Our cozy rooms

At Kolin Runo, you’ll stay in warm and comfortable rooms designed for rest and quiet moments after a day outdoors. Each room offers a peaceful place to unwind, while the house itself has a relaxed, homely feel.

Breakfast is enjoyed around a shared table, an easy moment to meet others or simply start the day at a gentle pace.

All guest rooms are located on the second floor, where guests also have access to  a small lounge area and a fridge for snacks. Downstairs you’ll find shared shower facilities, a fireplace room and the breakfast room. Shared toilets are available on both floors.

Sinipiika is a figure from Finnish folklore — a beautiful, hazy forest maiden who may appear to travellers or hunters by the evening fire. She seems graceful and ethereal at first glance, almost wrapped in a soft blue mist.

But like many forest spirits, she carries a hidden side: stories say that her back is hollow or covered in dark, bark-like scales. Sinipiika is both enchanting and mysterious, a gentle presence of the forest that is never fully revealed.

Kratti is an old Finnish spirit known as a loud, restless guardian of hidden treasures. According to folklore, a kratti watches over valuables buried in the ground and protects them fiercely. It’s said that if you treat a kratti with respect and keep good relations with it, you might just receive a small part of the treasure in return.

Mielikki is the mistress of the forest in Finnish folklore — the one who cares for the woods, tidies them, decorates them and keeps the landscapes beautiful. At times, she is said to wear her husband Tapio’s grey moss-covered coat. When dressed this way, she appears in the forest as a bent old figure, quietly counting the berry harvest of the year.
